Lajim: Take Legal Action Against 40,000 Sabahans Transferred to Vote in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Jan 24: The State Government of Selangor has been urged to take legal action against claims of about 40,000 ‘Sabahans’ being transferred as voters in Selangor.

Former Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin, claimed the majority of the ‘Sabahans’ are not native to or born in the state but are foreigners that were granted citizenship and identity cards.

He said that out of this number, only about 20-30 percent are real Sabahans.

“The Selangor Government should examine if there is a loophole in the legislation to acquire an injunction proceeding or otherwise for them,” said Lajim who is also the Beaufort Member of Parliament when contacted by TV Selangor.

He also said that the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) machinery in Selangor should intensify its efforts and framework to identify the 40,000 ‘Sabahans’ and give an explanation so that they are not taken advantage of by BN.

“It is not impossible that they will favour us (Pakatan Rakyat) if they are given clarification and explanation.

“Because they are only being used by BN to gain power.

“After that they will be ignored and no longer be given attention by BN if they are in power,” he said.
