SHAH ALAM, June 14: A total of 500 fields in residential areas will be built and its equipment replaces in the next five years by all Local Authorities (LA) across Selangor.
Local Government, Studies and Research Executive Councillor, Datuk Teng Chang Khim said that the effort will be done in stages where two fields in each of the 56 constituencies will be upgraded within a year.
According to him, the selection of fields will be made by the respective areas’ Assemblymen and it will be coordinated by the local authorities.
“All of these fields will be equipped with five components; a public hut, children’s play equipment four sets of gym equipment, four stone benches and solar lighting.
“This falls under the State Government framework to concentrate on building a positive image of local authorities across the state.
“We will implement it immediately and it will be a challenge for the Council to implement it,” he said in a press conference after a meeting with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) here this morning.
He said that the effort is part of the Five-Year Action Plan for the Standing Committee of Local Authorities in Selangor.
