SHAH ALAM, 2 Dec: The state government will consider increasing the grant of 40 cubic metres of free water after the restructuring of the water industry in Selangor is finalised in September 2015.
The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the matter will be reviewed before the state government makes any decision.
“I am pleased to inform that there has been a proposal for the free water grant to be increased to 40 cubic metres from 20 cubic metres.
“We will look into this matter after the water industry restructuring is finalised.
“This matter will also be revised and we need to look at it as the goods and services tax (GST) will come into effect in April next year,” he said during the Selangor State Assembly session today.
He said that the Selangor government will continue to prioritise the interests of the people as the free 20 cubic metres of water has helped many of the less fortunate.
