SHAH ALAM, 23 Dec: The Vice President of the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal, has been appointed as the squad manager of the Red Giants for the new season of the M League 2015.
Subahan will work alongside head coach Mehmet Durakovic to bring back the glory of the team.
“Subanah’s appointment was agreed upon by the FAS President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, after finding that he is the most qualified candidate to undertake the task,” said the FAS Secretary-General, Mohd Rosman Ibrahim, taken from Harian Metro.
Subahan, 49, is no stranger to the Selangor football arena when he became the assistant team manager from 2005 to 2008.
The last time Selangor won three trophies – the champions of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup – was in 2005.
In fact, Subahan, who is also the former Vice President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), is also the national squad manager who made history by winning the AFF Cup 2010 for the first time and the assistant squad manager for the SEA Games 2009 who ended the 20 year wait for the gold medal.
“We hope with his vast experience, he can help Selangor weather the next season better.
“He is certainly ‘seasoned’ in the aspect of management involving coaches, coaching staff and players,” he said.
