SHAH ALAM, 15 Jan: Tourism Selangor will participate in the Asean Tourism Forum (ATF) to promote attractive tourist centres across the state in conjunction with the Visit Selangor Year 2015 from January 27 to 29.
The Exco for Tourism, Environment, Green Technology and Consumer Affairs, Elizabeth Wong, said that the two-day forum, which will be held in Myanmar, will be the meeting point of tourism motivators throughout Southeast Asia.
“We will hold exhibitions and interact with tourism motivators across Southeast Asia.
“Tourism Selangor will bring the state’s tourism products with four other agencies that are participating,” Elizabeth said when contacted by Selangor Kini.
The other participating agencies are One World Hotel, the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) and Kidzzania.
The Selangor delegation will be led by the General Manager of Tourism Selangor, Noorul Ashikin.
Elizabeth said that she is confident that the tourism industry in Selangor will receive a positive impact from the largest tourism forum in Southeast Asia.
She said for the success of the Visit Selangor Year 2015, the state government will hold a variety of promotions within and outside the country to promote the tourism industry in the state.
“This includes participating in various international exhibitions around the world in order to ensure that the targeted goals are achieved,” she said.
