SHAH ALAM, 13 Jan: Inpens International College (INPENS) formed the Impens Flood Mission Volunteer Team (PASUMI) 1.0 to help flood victims in Kelantan recently.
The INPENS Corporate Communications Manager cum PASUMI 1.0 Leader, Hafri Mejan, said that the team is to mobilise the aid mission involving 15 volunteers to the district of Kuala Krai, Kelantan, that was badly affected by the floods from January 8 to 10.
He said that the mission also involved cooperation from two other agencies; the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) and the Kuala Selangor District Islamic Office (PAIDKS).
“In addition to distributing donated food and other necessities such as canvas and mats, PASUMI 1.0 also helped several flood victims clean their homes.
“For people who have lost their homes due to being damaged or flooded, we have taken the initiative to help them set up a temporary shelter using canvas and ropes,” he said.
Jefri said that the mission is being carried out of compassion and responsibility among people, in addition to instilling awareness among the volunteers involved.
He said that the destruction that occurred in Kuala Krai cannot be described by words alone and volunteers are still needed there.
“PASUMI 2.0 will also be launched in the near future to help flood victims in other affected areas such as in Pahang and Perak,” he said.
