SHAH ALAM, 17 Jan: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will carry out the Spring Cleaning programme by providing Roll-On-Roll-Off dumpsters for the convenience of the public.
The Deputy Corporate Director, Shahrin Ahmad, said that ROROs will be provided to residents to throw bulk waste and used goods.
Among the used goods allowed are wardrobes, sofas, mattresses, beds and electrical appliances such as refrigerators, radios, televisions, battery chargers and mobile phones.
“These ROROs are provided to prevent people from throwing bulk waste at the roadsides, in open spaces and places where it is not allowed, which is an eyesore to the environment.
“MBSA hopes that the local residents will provide cooperation by placing their bulk waste in the RORO dumpsters provided,” he said in a statement.
Shahrin said that it is to make it easier for contractors to collect and it keeps the surroundings clean and comfortable.
Three tonne ROROs will be placed in Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh from January 30 to February 2 at three locations; the main road at Phase 1B/5, the main road at Phase 1C/1 and Taman Mutiara Subang, Jalan Utarid U5/4.
From February 6 to 9, RORO dumpsters will be placed in Kota Kemuning at five locations; the Oncidium Housing (Jalan 31/67), the Doritis Housing (Jalan 31/124), the Liparis Housing (Jalan 31/143), the Canel Garden Housing (Jalan 31/199) and the Malaxis Housing (Jalan 31/171).
