SHAH ALAM, 16 Jan: The Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) is designing the development master plan for Bandar Baru Selayang in Selayang to avoid flash floods in the area under their supervision.
The MPS Corporate Officer, Azhar Salleh, said that the local authority will carry out development when they receive provisions from the state government.
“The estimated cost for the development plan is around RM800,000. If the allocation is approved, indeed, this work will be carried out,” he told Selangor Kini.
Azhar said that MPS has also completed the work papers for the development.
“The tender evaluation will be done by relevant departments and submit the work papers for the selection of consultants,” he said.
Recently, the Permatang Assemblyman, Sulaiman Abdul Razak, said that the Selangor government, in particular, should make preparations in advance to avoid any possibilities because all parties are aware of the transition of the monsoon season at the end of every year.
He said that some developments carried out were not done in accordance with the conditions set by the local authority.
