SHAH ALAM, 20 Jan: Shah Alam will become a world-class city by 2020 by focusing on prosperity, beauty and peace.
The Mayor of Shah Alam, Datuk Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad, said that the target can be achieved through economic stability, good basic facilities, community harmony and security.
“In terms of landscape, we might put up some flowering trees to beautify this City of Orchids,” he said during a media conference.
Prior to that, he was sworn in as the Mayor at Wisma Majlis Bandar Raya Shah Alam (MBSA).
He was previously the Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) before he was appointed as the 7th Mayor on January 2.
Zaharin said that he will also focus on strengthening the human capital of his staff.
“If I fail to educate MBSA employees, then I would have failed in educating the community,” he added.
