Kelab Sukan & Sosial MPK nafi bantah naik taraf Dewan Hamzah

MPK Sports & Social Club denies rejecting Dewan Hamzah upgrade works

BY: NORHAYATI UMOR

KLANG, JUL 21: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Sports and Social Club’s top management always supports and stands by MPK on the issue of upgrading Dewan Hamzah.

Club Vice President Zaireezal Ahmad Zainuddin said that the top management of the club also denies the statement released by an English-language news daily that claimed that there was resistance from his side to the upgrading of the hall.

He said the allegation was baseless and seen as an attempt to sabotage the club leaders’ relationship with MPK.  He asked the individuals concerned to state their views in person.

“The allegation is really serious with malicious intent. The club has always stood solidly with the leadership of MPK Yang Dipertua (YDP) Datuk Mohamad Yasid Bidin, who in turn, is deeply committed to sports development and in upgrading existing facilities, including those at Dewan Hamzah, which is in-line with current development.

“In addition, upgrading of other sports facilities including Pandamaran hall, Sports Field Complex and Hockey Stadium, as well as proposal to upgrade Kota Raja Stadium proves that MPK YDP and Secretary Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi are committed towards sports development in Klang district,” he said in a statement.

MPK KELAB SUKAN

Zaireezal said following upgrading works for Dewan Hamzah, MPK management is allowing club members to play badminton and sepak takraw for free at Dewan Teluk Pulai and Dewan Sri Andalas through applications from MPK Community Department.

Meanwhile, MPK Sports and Social Club President Hasnor Harith said, 1,100 club members expressed their appreciation for the new MPK leadership which always prioritises the welfare and well-being of council staff.

He said allegations raised in the report were baseless.

“The club is asking individuals concerned to come forward in person as we always welcome suggestions, ideas and criticisms but not wild accusations without concrete evidence.

“This involves the club’s honour. Allegations based on speculation are not a positive method of expression,” he said.
