BY NORHAYATI UMOR

SHAH ALAM, MARCH 16: The Election Commission (SPR) was charged with breaking the rules again in the latest round of public display delineation study involving parliamentary elections Pagoh parliament.

Director of DAP election strategist, Dr Ong Kian Ming claimed that there was a discrepancy in the regional list vote in DUN under Pagoh Parliament that is held by President Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), , Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said the first proposal delineation first published on 15 September 2016 (Recommendation 1) and the proposed redrawing of the 2nd issued on March 8, 2017 (Recommendation 2), he identified the polling district entered into Recommendation 1, but excluded in Recommendation 2.

“For example Kampong Teratai voting district with 876 voters registered in the constituency N9 Gambir, under 144 Ledang, Johor.

“Kampong Teratai is one of the many voting region released from Parliament P143 Pagoh seats and moved to Parliament P144 Ledang seats.

“Surprisingly, in Recommendation 2, district voted Kampong Teratai lost. This is important because if 876 voters in Kampong Teratai not know where they are placed on the parliamentary and state seats, they can not object to the delimitation shown in Recommendation 2, “he said in a statement.

Kian Ming said that they also found other errors including new voting districts added in Recommendation 2, but is not mentioned in Recommendation 1.

“Although SPR has the right to add new polling centers, it should be done under Section 7 (2) of the Elections Act 1958. SPR reorder and add new polling centers on 29 April 2016 under the provisions of the Election Act 1958.

“It cannot add a new voting district of Recommendation 1 and Recommendation 2 delimitations. But, this is done by SPR when they added Taman Rimba to the DUN N30 Mentakab (P88 Temerloh) in Recommendation 2, “he said.
