998 stray dogs captured to prevent infection

SHAH ALAM, 30 Sept: A total of 998 stray dogs have been caught in the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) administrative area since early January to September 29.

The MPSJ Yang DiPertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, said that even though no rabies has been found, but early measures have been taken to prevent the disease.

“We have received complaints from the public who have expressed concern about the disease as there are stray dogs roaming rampantly.

“The catchings also increased starting January, 75 dogs, February (69), March (71), April (102), May (84), June (199), July (103), August (132) and September until yesterday, 163, bringing the total to 998 compared to over 700 last year,” he said.

He said this during the MPSJ Finance Bill 09/2015 Committee Meeting today.

At the same event, also participating in the 2015 MPSJ Council Member Swearing and Appointment Ceremony was M. Anbarasan.

It is understood that M. Anbarasan is responsible for JKP Zone 19, Taman Equin, Seri Serdang, and began service on August 31 to December 31.
