Establish PWD support centre, pay attention to erosion of reserve land

SHAH ALAM, 26 Nov: The state government has been urged to improve the system for people with disabilities (PWD) to ensure that the group is not left behind in the development of the state.

Mohd Khairuddin Othman (PAS-Paya Jaras) said that Selangor does not have a sound system for this group of people and the assistance given is also inadequate.

“We do not have a sound system for the disabled to a point that they often wonder when this assistance will arrive.

“I appeal for the Chief Minister to enter this into the state government system by establishing a PWD support centre so that they can move among themselves there,” he said when debating on the Selangor Budget 2015 motion today.

In addition, he said that the issue of the erosion of Malay reserve land should be given attention as the problem is becoming increasingly serious, especially in the area of Sungai Buloh.

“I also propose for this land ownership grant programme to be continued because it is beneficial to the people,” he said.

At the same time, Khairuddin also requested for the drainage problem at Kampung Melayu Sungai Buloh to be solved to avoid flooding problems from recurring.
