Selangor approves soft loan of RM48.5 million to enhance KUIS

BANGI, 27 Aug: The State Government approved a soft loan worth RM48.5 million towards the Selangor Islamic University College (KUIS) to strengthen the institution.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the loan is specially given to ease the development of facilities, including upgrading existing facilities and the construction of new facilities.

With that, he said, it can provide better comfort and facilities to the citizens of KUIS.

“This effort must be refined and polished neatly by all citizens of KUIS so that it can drive KUIS towards being a world-class university.

“A network of academic cooperation between institutions from within and outside the country is important in the sharing of information for the betterment of the future,” he said in front of nearly 1,000 attendees.

He was speaking at the 17th KUIS Convocation at the KUIS Convention Centre yesterday, which was also attended by the Selangor Islamic Religious Committee (MAIS) Chairman, Datuk Mohammad Adzib Mohd Isa.

The convocation this time saw a total of 1,610 graduates who completed their studies in various fields.

At the same time, Abdul Khalid said that the State Government also strongly supports the establishment of the KUIS Zakat and Wakaf centre to help students.

“I recommend for you to increase the KUIS Zakat and Wakaf funds for the comfort and facilities of education for students in KUIS in education development that is more sustainable,” he added.
