SHAH ALAM, 10 Mar: Banting, Port Klang and Putrajaya have recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings as of 11 this morning.
The report from the Department of Environment (DOE) website have found that these areas have recorded API readings exceeding 100, with Banting at 122, Port Klang at 141 and Putrajaya at 108.
Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor has recorded an API reading of 91, Petaling Jaya at 83 and Shah Alam at 90.
The DOE categorised API readings at 0-50 as good, 51-100 as moderate, 101-200 as unhealthy, 201-300 as very unhealthy and 301 and above is categorised as dangerous.
According to the website, by early evening or late afternoon, the ozone concentration is high and dominates the API readings in some areas.
