“Although I can’t speak for long, InsyaAllah, I will still answer. I will explain that the previous weakness is that we did not look into the weaknesses of the budget in total,” he said enlivening the Selangor State Assembly session today.

Answering Sulaiman’s question related to the storage reserves, he said that the state government plans to provide financial management training to all Selangor Assemblymen to improve their ability to control finances.

Abdul Khalid, who is also an Assemblyman (PKR-Port Klang), said that the training is important to ensure that public funds are spent properly and it is easier to detect errors in financial management.

Yesterday, he tool almost two hours to table the Selangor Budget 2014, the sixth budget by the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government.

The budget presentation, which was scheduled to finish at 1pm, was extended until 1.30pm.

Abdul Khalid also answered some questions regarding his portfolio in an oral question and answer session, and he even answered in length despite having a sore throat.
