RAWANG, 6 Mar:The Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) launches a raid in a joint operation to prevent vices at massage centres suspected of running prostitution activities around Rawang.
In the operations involving two massage centres at Jalan Rawang Central and another at Jalan Bandar Rawang 2, a total of four Thai women and two locals believed to act as the supervisor at the massage centres were arrested.
The MPS President Special Unit Chief, C Paramasivam, said that MPA, with the cooperation of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), also seized all equipment, took down the main business signboard and cut the electricity at all the premises involved.
“Prior to this, MPS had already terminated their business licences because they were suspected of carrying out prostitution activities and they were raided three months ago, but it looks like they continued their operations without licence and this is why we cut their electricity supply, seized all equipment and took down the business signboards so that they cannot continue operations. The total compound issued in this operation is RM75,000.
“From intelligence information, we also found that some of these massage centres ran prostitution activities, but because there is no evidence, we have charged them on other various offences committed,” said Paramasivam in a press conference after the operations ended.
The Shah Alam Immigration Enforcement Division Deputy Director General, Aided Sani, said that the Thai nationals arrested will be investigated under Section 39 (b) for abusing their social visitation passes by working illegally at the massage centres involved.
“The foreign women employees were detained to be investigated under Section 39(b) for misusing visitation passes and statements have been taken from the two local men to help in the Immigration (Department’s) investigation,” said Aided.
Meanwhile, PPgB Muhammad Razif Ismail said that the premises owners have also been found guilty of the offence of violating building conditions.
“Only the ground floor of this shop lot is allowed for a shop and the first floor is to be used and a house or office only, but we found that a premises was operating its business at the top floor, this is not allowed,” said Muhammad Rafiz.
This integrated operations involved 60 officers from various MPS departments, the Immigration Department, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP), the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (JAIS) and TNB.
