SHAH ALAM, OCT 31: The Selangor government once again registered a surplus budget when its financial position as of October 14 managed to record a surplus of RM351.38 million.

Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the success was not a ploy but was the result of strong financial reserves.

He said that this enabled the State Government to table the 2017 Budget that would develop the people, prosper the state and increase domestic and foreign investment through economic-friendly policies.

“On October 30, 2015, I presented a deficit budget of RM630 million to encourage development for the benefit of the citizens and the state.

“We are thankful that till October 14, 2016, the state’s financial position is at a surplus of RM351.38 million,” Mohamed Azmin said while tabling the 2017 Selangor State Budget at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly on October 31.

He said that the state’s revenue is at 96.9%, development expenditure has reached 60% while operational expenditure was at 77.1%

The state reserves meanwhile are at RM3.62 billion.
