MBSA issues 1,790 Ramadan bazaar permits

SHAH ALAM, MAY 18: At least 1,790 Ramadan bazaar permits have been issued by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to traders who will be doing business this year.

Its Mayor, Dato’ Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad said MBSA also conducts briefing sessions from May 15 till today (May 18, 2017).

He said this is to ensure these traders comply with the rules and regulations during their businesses.

“Traders must maintain their cleanliness level when it comes to food and beverage beginning from the process of buying raw materials, the preparation and during selling.

“MBSA through its Licensing Department and Environmental Health Department will monitor all bazaar sites everyday,” he said.

He said that at the 2017 Ramadan Bazaar Briefing and License Distribution Closing Ceremony at Dewan Teratai today.

Ahmad Zaharin said there are 35 Ramadan bazaar locations by MBSA which are Seksyen 6, 7, 8, 13, 24, 25 dan U3.

He said, the cost of permit for food and beverage is between RM257 and RM347, based on category of grilled or non-grilled food.

“Meanwhile, for association or private sites, the fee is RM167,” he said.

Food manufacturers such as Adabi, Unilever, Nextle, Indomee dan Mamee also cooperated in the briefing.
