SHAH ALAM, 27 JULY: PAS spiritual advisor Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has agreed with PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s stand, which suggests Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to stay as Selangor Chief Minister.
Nik Aziz said, there are no valid reasons to remove Abdul Khalid as he has administered and excelled during his term of services since the 13th General Election.
“I have read the President’s statement and I am in full support regarding his stand.”
“I along with many others throughout the nation are wondering, what are the mistakes and wrong doings of Khalid till he deserves to be dropped as Chief Minister,” he said in a statement earlier today.
He also added, if there is a need to replace Khalid due to weaknesses in his administration, it needs to be discussed via a Pakatan Rakyat meeting before suggesting a replacement.
“If we have not made it to the first step, we cannot rush towards the second, or we shall misjudge and fall,” he said.
Nik Aziz also urged Pakatan Rakyat to settle the Khalid issue gracefully and not to allow it to prolong.
He said, Pakatan needs to settle the issues through internal discussions as the people are sick of witnessing top leaders bickering among themselves.
“This is just a minor issue. This might help mature the relationship among us in Pakatan Rakyat,” he said.
