“Among these methods that can be implemented to fulfil our current requirement is the ‘waste to energy’, ‘energy from waste’ or ‘zero waste’ method.

“Through this method, we can generate new energy from waste and reduce landfill ultimately preventing environmental pollution,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin said that in his speech at the 3 Sanitary Disposal Site Post-closure Maintenance Agreement Signing Ceremony this morning.

It involves an extended co-operation between Worldwide Holdings Berhad (Worldwide Holdings) and the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) for a five-year co-operation framework.

The ceremony also witnessed Worldwide Holdings introducing the E-World system as the solid waste management method.

The initiative is introduced to all local authorities’ management to manage and regulate their waste collection.

Supporting the system implementation, Mohamed Azmin said it supports the Smart State agenda through the use of smart applications.

“This system is consistent with the State Government’s goal and agenda towards realising the Smart Selangor that cares.

“I believe with applications like this, we can create an effective and time-saving disposal management system,” he said.
