SHAH ALAM, 20 Oct: Syarikat Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (PRASARANA) agreed to change the alignment for the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) route from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia in Klang, as urged by the residents of Taman Muhibah.
The Exco for Investment, Industry, Trade and Transport, Datuk Teng Chang Khim, said that the LRT3 route previously planned would go through a housing area and this has been changed to pass through Pasar Besar Klang in Jalan Meru.
“With these changes, the LRT3 route will no longer pass through the residential area and the change in the alignment will not involve any real estate acquisition.
“In fact, the station was originally planned to be built next to SMK Bukit Tinggi, will be changed to beside the market,” he said taken from Bernama.
According to initial plans, a total of 12 houses and eight shop houses in Taman Muhibah will be acquired and demolished to build the 35 kilometre line which is expected to be completed by August 31, 2020.
The project is part of the Land Public Transport National Master Plan towards the development of a public transport system that is efficient, effective, integrated and sustainable to increase socio-economic levels and the people’s quality of life.
