SHAH ALAM, 20 May: The Alpha Brothers Archery Club (Abac) will organise the 1Keluarga1Pemanah (1K1P) or 1Family1Archer programme in effort to produce new talent that can be presented at the state and national levels.
The programme in collaboration with the Selangor Department of Youth and Sports (JBNS) and the National Archery Association of Malaysia (NAAM) will take place at the Abac archery field in Kampung Johan Setia, Klang, on May 30.
Abac Secretary Azman Mohamad said that the event is being organised to attract youth and teenagers to engage in sports and archery activities.
He said that Abac will also draw up promotions and improve the quality of archery in Selangor, as well as getting the public to be actively involved.
“It is an effort to develop this sport and gain support from parents so that their children get involved. The programme is expected to be launched by the Sri Muda Assemblyman, Shuhaimi Shafie.
“In addition to creating awareness and exposure, 1K1P is aimed at producing new talent that have the potential to be taken to a higher level,” he said.
Azman said that Abac is also organising activities with youth and sports bodies at all levels.
