“We do want to expand and strengthen art activities in Selangor, which was available previously but can be expanded even more.

“God-willing, I hope that the budget which will be presented will provide a large allocation which we can use to encourage art and cultural activities in Selangor.

“We will provide space for all fields, but at the same time, we will be focusing on modern art like film, theatre and art and so on” said Amirudin when contacted by Sleangor Kini today.

He explained that this allocation may spark the art industry as a boost to development in Selangor.

Amirudin added that previously there was an agency names the Selangor State Malay Customs and Heritage Cooperation (PADAT) which was established to focus on art and cultural traditions in the state.

“At the same time we have established agencies like PADAT, which is an agency that focuses on strengthening and encouraging traditional heritage customs, specifically Malay.

“I will work with Dr Ahmad Yunus (Hairi) to strengthen the tradition of cultural art and heritage,” added Amirudin.
