AGENDA shows positive achievement, solved outstanding issues

SHAH ALAM, 21 May: The Makmur Selangor Agenda (Agenda) which was developed by the state government has shown positive achievements since it was implemented a few months ago.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG), Raja Shahreen Raja Othman, said that the achievements or initial results obtained concerns the Canal City project.

He said that this was in reference to the return per share gross development (GDV) value which was successfully increased to RM550 million and is a win-win solution between Selangor and the developer.

“The second achievement is regarding legislation and legal issues about disputes and lawsuit damages when progress was achieved in the case.

“The potential of bank debt losses and legal costs of almost RM300 million was avoided,” he said during the Agenda and DEIG Launching Ceremony at the Shah Alam Convention Ceremony (SACC) yesterday.

Raja Shahreen said that the third achievement is the financing of Selangor’s deficit budget of RM450 million through the Darul Ehsan Group Berhad (KDEB) loan repayment to the state government which will be finalised between June to July this year.

In addition, other achievements involve the installation of 2500 free wifi hotspots which was announced by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.

“We are targeting the installation of 600 free wifi hotspots this month and we are confident that we will complete all 2500 wifi hotspots in October.

“I am pleased to inform that the installation of 2500 wifi hotspots is a temporary measure to provide broadband access for all the people of Selangor.

“We are actually in the process of preparing the action plan or blueprint for the Selangor Smart State project involving ICT, internet and more efficient and smart services as a catalyst for the state to make a quantum leap forward,” he said.
