Agriculture and opportunity for the young generation to achieve good returns

SHAH ALAM, 1 June: The state government is encouraging the young generation in Selangor to venture into agriculture following the good market demand for the field.

The Exco for Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industries, Zaidy Abdul Talib, said that serious effort will be carried out to attract the young people to participate.

“The state government will try as best possible to open up space and help in terms such as finances and technology so that these entrepreneurs can be successful.

“Initially, we targeted up to 50 agro entrepreneurs from the young generation who can be called successful by the end of next year,” he said after launching the Young Generation Agro Entrepreneur Seminar Programme today.

He said that the seminar opens up space for the young people to emulate those who have been successful and they are willing to share ideas and views on the success achieved.

“In Selangor, the demand in terms of ‘Self-Sufficient Level’ (SSF) still has a lot of opportunities. The state government will help the young generation to build a career in this field and become successful entrepreneurs with good returns.

“We have also made the framework by identifying the suitable areas for the purpose. The plan will be matched with the agriculture development plan which is being pursued,” he said.
