Austrian and Italian Passengers Not On MH370

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Mar: An Austrian national reported to be one of the passengers on the Malaysian Airlines (MAS) MH370 flight is still at home as his passport was stolen, said the foreign ministry spokesman in Vienna today.

“We received information from Malaysian Airlines that there was an Austrian on the flight.

“Our system shows that his passport was stolen,” he said, as reported by Reuters.

He said that the passport was stolen two years ago in Thailand.

The Italian Foreign Ministry also said that none of its citizens were on the MH370 flight although the MAS list contains the name of Luigi Maraldi, 37.

Corriere Della Sera reported that Maraldi’s passport was stolen in Thailand last August.

The Italian Foreign Ministry did not comment on the report.
