Bas Selangorku OKU-friendly, with free WiFi

SHAH ALAM, 1 Jul: Selangorians have the opportunity of using the free bus service, Bas Selangorku starting today, from 6am to 10pm.

The Exco for Investment, Industry (SMI) & Trade and Transport, Datuk Teng Chang Khim, said that the bus service also stops at commuter stations, schools and government offices.

He said that the bus routes differ from commercial bus routes, making it more practical and efficient for passengers.

“Interestingly, we are also in the process of providing free WiFi and a disabled-friendly bus service.

“With buses running at a 15-minute frequency, it is hoped that this service would ease the burden of the rakyat,” he said at a press conference after completing the launch of Bas Selangorku in the compound of the Shah Alam Komuter station here today.

Bas Selangorku is made available in three local councils: the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), the Kajang Municipal Council (MPK), and the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

MBSA and MPSJ were each provided four buses while MPK was provided three buses.

The Bas Selangorku service in MBSA spans a distance of 10.5km with 22 stops while the MPSJ route is 14.5km long with 19 stops, and MPK has a 8.5km route with 11 stops.

The bus service is operated by Rapid Sdn Bhd and each bus is has a capacity of up to 60 passengers at a given time.
