SHAH ALAM, 19 June: Rider of the OA Racing Team, Azrul Affendi Hadi, proved that his challenge cannot be underestimated by other teams after he managed to conquer the Hang Jebat Stadium track in Malacca from June 13 to 14.
The success of the team this Selangor indigenous rider who is based in Kampung Bukit Tadom, Banting, is in allowed Azrul to be in second place with 63 points behind the championship leader who picked an overall of 79 points.
The team manager, Hadi Anak Jembik, said that he is confident that Azrul is able to maintain his excellence in the remaining five rounds to come.
“Azrul managed to be in pole position during the test run and is grateful that he managed to be champion for the second time.
“Azrul is closer to the first place. There are five rounds before the end. It is still a long time but I believe that Azrul’s chance to become the overall winner this year is bright,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini today.
Previously, Azrul was competing for the pro-am category in the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cubprix Champiuonship and also won the round in Temerloh and went on the podium several times in other rounds.
The team however had to deal with the issue of sponsorship to a point they were unable to take part in several rounds previously.
It could be an obstacle for the team to be the overall champions this time if this problem is not solved.
