Damansara Uptown is the cleanest square in PJ

PETALING JAYA, 16 June: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) launched the Clean Damansara Uptown programme in collaboration with real estate developer See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd, the Damansara Utama Assemblyman’s Service Centre and the Damansara Utama Business Association (DUBA).

The Mayor of MBPJ, Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain, said that the partnership was forged to achieve the transformation objectives of Damansara Uptown to become the cleanest commercial square in Petaling Jaya.

“The joint initiative plan is to improve the level of cleanliness in Damansara Uptown through enforcement and MBPJ services, awareness and community involvement towards its success,” said Azizi when launching the programme today.

The DUBA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd, Joe Tan, said that the project to beautify Damansara Uptown includes upgrading the traffic flow, road repairs and cleaning.

“One important area that needs to be taken care of is the cleanliness of restaurants, hotels and the surrounding area.

“The commitment given will allow our vision to make Damansara Uptown the cleanest area to be realised,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Damansara Utama Assemblyman, Yeo Bee Yin, said that the transformation will provide awareness to the public that clean areas affect a healthy life.

“In addition, we can attract tourists and make Damansara Uptown an inspiration for their area,” he said.
