SHAH ALAM, 27 Apr: PAS decision to move from demanding the Kota Damansara State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat was welcomed by the Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM) candidate, contesting with the PKR ticket, Dr Mohd Nasir Hashim.

He is confident that the decision is a positive development in Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) effort to defend the Kota Damansara DUN seat and go on to capture Putrajaya.

According to Dr Nasir, the decision was informed by the Selangor PAS Commissioner, Dr Abdul Rani Osman.

“Now we need to move to explain to the public, especially supporters of PR, that PAS has pulled out so that confusion will not arise,” said Dr Mohd Nasir when contacted.

According to Dr Nasir, apart from hoping that the former PAS candidate, Ridzuan Ismail, can accept the decision of the top leadership, he hopes that PSM and PAS will work together to remain Selangor in PR’s hands.

“Usually PAS is always open to accepting the decision of party leaders and I hope that is the way it is so that we can help each other,” he added.

Prior to this, the clash between PKR and PAS for the Kota Damansara DUN seat was thought to affect PR’s chances of defending the seat.

Dr. Nasir will be challenged by Halimaton Saadiah Bohan (BN), Halmi Omar (Independent), Edros Abdullah (Independent) and A Supayyah (Independent).
