Dana-Sel scheme to be expanded to help people own homes

SHAH ALAM, 6 Apr: The Selangorku Housing Financing Scheme (Dana-Sel) will be expanded to other home ownership schemes, including the purchase of used homes, to ensure that the middle class can afford their own homes through the hire-purchase scheme.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abd Samad (PAS-Chempaka), said that the same scheme will be opened to public servants of Selangor to help those with low incomes.

“It has been personally announced by the Chief Minister during the launch of the Selangorku Homes at U10 in Shah Alam last Saturday,” he said.

Sana-Sel is a low-cost home ownership scheme with the concept of hire-purchase after participants reach the maturity period of the rental in accordance to the terms and conditions of the agreement.

On December 4, the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, officiated the Dana-Sel Scheme with an initial allocation of RM10 million with a target of 15,000 affordable homes (RMM) to be built in two years.

For starters, the two Dana-Sel pilot projects that have begun involves the Ukay Indah Low-Cost Homes in Sungai Sering (116 units) and The Pangsapuri RImba RKR in Rimba Jaya (104 units).
