Dr Yunus: Less PAS Exco members is not a problem, concentrate in carrying out administration

KLANG, 26 Sept: Members of the State Executive Council from PAS are determined to move forward to ensure that the administration of Selangor is carried out well.

The Assemblyman for Sijangkang, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that the issue of the reduction of PAS Exco members is not a big issue to be focused on now, instead the smooth running of the state administration will be the main focus.

He also considers the situation that has befell the Selangor PAS may have meaning.

“We are moving forward to ensure that the state government can govern better or have a continuation of what was done previously so that the people can benefit from this administration” he said.

He said this after the swearing in ceremony and pledge, as well as the presentation of the appointment letter for the Exco members at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, Klang, today.

When asked if the list of Selangor PAS Exco members appointed was the same as listed by the Central PAS, Yunus however said that he is unsure about that.

He also expects that the position of Deputy Speaker which will be held by PAS soon will be discussed at the upcoming Exco meeting.

“If it is according to the list in the Deputy Speaker committee at the state level, there are a number of qualified candidates, namely Shafie Ngah or Khairuddin Othman” he added.

The new Selangor state government Exco line-up was announced this morning which witnesses PAS losing an Exco position.

The total number of PAS Exco members was reduced from the previous four members to three.

Meanwhile, the number of Exco members from PKR increased from three to four.

The composition of Exco members from PKR-DAP-PAS was assented by the Sultan of Selangor yesterday and was announced by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.
