Felda Bukit Cherakah Mosque Upgraded to Accommodate Worshipers

KUALA SELANGOR, August 1: The Kampung Felda Bukit Cherakah Mosque will undergo renovations to accommodate the increasing population in line with the development around Puncak Alam.

The Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), Datuk Marzuki Hussin said that the renovation works for the mosque which was built on 1 January 1996 is very important for the comfort of local residents.

The improvements of the mosque will include a larger prayer space, a multipurpose hall, an Imam room, a muezzin room, a room for funeral ceremonies and a changing room to realise the hopes of making it a ‘One Stop Centre’.

“The renovation was proposed and the committee members of the mosque set up development committee to make design recommendations in addition to finding additional funds for the renovation of this mosque.

“In general, this mosque requires renovation in future for the use of local residents,” he said in an opening speech in conjunction with the Iftar with the Sultan of Selangor and the People, and the opening of the Kampung Felda Bukit Cherakah Mosque.

At the event, DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah consented to present Aidilfitri (Eid al-Fitr) contributions to 300 poor and needy asnaf, 150 orphans and 100 converts before the prayers.

Also present was the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, the President of the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS), Noraini Roslan, the District General (Orang Besar Daerah), Datuk Mohamad Yaacob Ismail and the Kuala Selangor District Officer, Sulaiman Abdul Rahman.
