FMFA: Mei Fun Should Apologise to Selangor Government

KAJANG, 20 Mar: Jingga 13 Malaysia is urging the MCA candidate for the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, to publicly apologise to the Selangor Government for linking them to the death of six teenagers in a concert in Bukit Jalil recently.

The Chief Coordinator of Jingga 13, Fariz Musa, said that Mei Fun’s statement clearly shows her personality of liking to point fingers at random without reasonable cause.

He said that the public knows that the Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) concert received support and encouragement from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture through an agency under it, the Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau.

“Jingga 13 insists for Mei Fun to publicly apologise to the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government for the wild and unethical statement, and even linking it with unrelated issues, the existence of massage parlors and cyber cafes in Selangor.

“She should be aware that all of this existed during Barisan Nasional’s (BN) time, so we ask for her to prove the statements made,” he said in a press conference here at the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Main Operations Room today.

Fariz also urges all voters in Kajang to reject the BN candidate, who has shown her stripes by manipulating statements as capital to win in the Kajang by-election.

He said that Umno-BN should also be responsible for the organising of the FMFA concert which not only generates the decadence of the younger generation, but also saw the rampant use of drugs.

“The people of Kajang do not need a representative that has no integrity and credibility like Mei Fun,” he said.

Mei Fun, who is also the MCA Vice President, in a statement to the Malay Mail portal, linked the death of six teenagers, who overdose on drugs during the FMFA concert, with the Selangor Government.

She claimed that the death is the result of the increase in illegal massage parlors and cyber cafes in Selangor.
