PETALING JAYA, 1 FEB: A futsal court worth RM150,000 using provisions from the Selangorku Grant, was successfully completed for the convenience of residents in Gugusan Semarak, Section 4, Kota Damansara.

With the existence of the court, it will facilitate the people here, especially the youth community, to run a variety of sports and recreation activities.

“We are providing this facility after realising that this neighbourhood has no proper (futsal) court and it was requested by the residents’ association.

“It was able to be completed quickly after the application to Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) was approved in a short period of time, while the tender process was managed by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

“The construction took almost four months starting from the mid of last year and was completed at the end of last year. This futsal court also has a sepaktakraw court and this facility is hoped to meet the requirements of the youth here,” said Abdul Aziz Dahalan, Personal Assistant to Kota Damansara Assemblyman, Dr Nasir Hashim.

Abdul Aziz explained that the futsal court is adjacent to a playground and it is ideal because it is situated in the middle of the residential area there.

He said that the State Government, through the Localising The Selangor Economy (MES – Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor) agenda has clearly brought about many changes and benefits to the people of Selangor.

“A presentation ceremony to handover the court between Dr Nasir and the residents will be held this Sunday,” he said.
