GOMBAK, 24 Feb: The Land Public Transport Commission (PSAD) has been asked to open up space for discussion with the public regarding the directive to close the Greenwood bus terminal, near here, that will take effect on March 8.
Gombak Setia Assemblyman, Hasbullah Ridzwan, said that this is because the bus has been operating for a long time and is synonymous with the route heading to the East Coast.
He said that the order to close the terminal was officially released by SPAD two weeks ago and started getting strong opposition from the public.
“Following the decision by SPAD to move the terminal to the South Integrated Terminal (TBS), it would make it difficult for most users because they have been using the Greenwood terminal all this while to head to the East Coast.
“I was informed that the two major reasons given by the SPAD is from the angle of safety and traffic disruption,” he told Selangor Kini.
Hasbullah said that so far, over 700 signatures have been collected to oppose the closing of the Greenwood bus terminal since this morning.
“We are asking for consideration from SPAD because there are those willing to upgrade the area so that it is safer and does not interfere with traffic,” he said.
