Ground movements in Jalan Plumbum, Section 7, continuously monitored

SHAH ALAM, 9 May: Continuous monitoring must be carried out to obtain the readings for the ground movements at the development site at Jalan Plumbum when the soil settled and forced 12 owners to move.

The Public Relations Manager of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) said that the local authority has asked the developer carrying out development work next to the incident site to continue monitoring at the site in at least three months.

“MBSA will call on the developer and PKNS once more on May 20 to present preliminary findings on the possibility of further soil movement or not in the area,” it was said in the press statement.

Meanwhile, Ishak informed that all 12 housing units involved in the incident on April 2 have vacated their homes and are now living in rented houses around the Klang Valley.

As a matter of courtesy, PKNS provided allowance for the rental of the homes between RM2,000 to RM2,500 for the families involved.

“This assistance will continue until their homes are safe to be occupied,” he said.
