SUBANG JAYA, 28 JUNE: Famous comedian, Hamid Gurkha spent some of his time today with the Subang Jaya Local Council (MPSJ) in Part 3 of its Mutual Aid Programme to Combat Aedes Mosquitoes with Celebrities at Angsana Apartments, USJ 1, here.
Hamid, whose real name is Abdul Hamid Ab Rahman was first known through the film titled Panglima Abdul.
Besides Pak Hamid, the “gotong-royong” programme was also attended by Aman Shah Asri, better known as Am Raja Lawak which was held before the month of Ramadhan.
The programme was officiated by MPSJ Director, Datuk Asmawi Kasbi. MPSJ prepared tools and utensils such as wheelbarrows, drain scoops, and others for cleaning work. MPSJ also received assistance from other agencies such as the firemen department and the local residents for the programme.
The programme aims to increase public awareness on the importance of cleanliness within their surroundings and the efforts to combat dengue.
