Hudud issue discussed during DNS session

SHAH ALAM, 13 June: Studies and understanding regarding the implementation of Hudud law in Selangor will only be debated by Umno Assemblymen at the upcoming Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the decision has been decided today by the DNS Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, and the State Government accepts her decision openly.

“(The implementation of Hudud) is not the question because we have been told by the Speaker that at the upcoming DNS session, all Umno Assemblymen will present and discuss the need to study and understand Hudud law.

“The Speaker has allowed for the discussion,” he said during a press conference after attending the I-City Investors Briefing programme for the development of the I-City Mall yesterday.

Earlier, a motion from an Umno Assemblyman to study the likelihood of the implementation of Hudud in Selangor was accepted for debate by the DNS Speaker.

It is expected to be tabled next week.

Speaking at a press conference in her Service Centre in Subang Jaya today, Hannah said that she received four motions for the upcoming State Legislative Assembly (DUN).

All the motions, she added, come from BN and one motion was passed regarding the issue of Hudud.
