KUALA LUMPUR, 1 Apr: Deputy Trade Minister, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir has been advised to refer to the data released by the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) following his allegation of belittling the capability of Pakatan Rakyat (PR).

According to PAS Vice-President, Datuk Mahfuz Omar, apart from Penang and Selangor, Kedah which is led by PAS also recorded encouraging investment value.

According to Mahfuz who was citing from a report released by MIDA, for the period from 2008 to 2012, Kedah managed to record a total investment of RM15.89 billion.

For the same period, the Government of Kedah also manage to open up a total of 22,440 job opportunities for the people of the state.

“The state which recorded the lowest investment is Perlis which is governed by BN,” added Mahfuz.

Instead, Mahfuz asked Mukhiz to admit that the two states that are the biggest contributors in terms of investment in this country are states governed by PR.

“Datuk Mukhriz should admit that the two states that contribute the highest investment are PR led states, which are Penang and Selangor,” said Mahfuz in a press conference at the Central PAS headquarters.

Earlier, Mukhriz in a statement to the media said that some investors are willing to invest in this country if BN wins in the 13th General Elections (GE-13).

His statement gives a negative perception on the ability of Pakatan Rakyat leaders at the federal and state level who have lured investors into the country or their respective states.

However, his statement was not accompanied by any evidence or list of companies.
