JAIS: 35 heresies in Selangor

SUNGAI BULOH, 1 Jul: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) warns Muslims to be careful of movements which spread false doctrines and threaten the security of the state.

JAIS director, Datuk Haris Kasim, said 35 teachings were issued fatwas and reported by Selangor Mufti Department as deviating from true Islamic teachings.

“A total of 21 heresies are identified as still active, while another 14 do not move actively.

Among the deviant teachings which were issued fatwas are Tariqat Al-Hasaniah, Ahmadiah/Qadyani teachings, Azhar Wahad and Wahdatul Wujud,” he said at the Saujana Utama Mosque here.

He said that the Kuala Selangor district was also not spared from the spread of false doctrines when JAIS confirmed that the teachings of Millah Abraham has been growing since 2014.

“JAIS will collaborate with several law enforcement agencies to suppress and stifle these teachings to the grassroots.

“This is to maintain the harmony and the sanctity of Islam and the practice of Sunnah Wal Jamaah which is our guide,” he stressed.
