SHAH ALAM, 9 Jan: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has been urged to clarify the status of investigation and that prosecution needs to be carried out against Raja Ropiah Raja Abdullah, the owner of Awan Megah.
In a statement quoted from the JINGGA 13 website, it was stated that it has been exactly a year since the non-governmental organisation (NGO) reported to the MACC about the RM160 million payment to the subsidiary company of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) to Astacanggih and Awan Megah.
On 9 January 2013, the Secretary of Jingga 13 Malaysia, DK Vicky represented Jingga 13 in making a report to the MACC at the Selangor MACC in Shah Alam.
This was following the revelation made by YB Rafizi Ramli and the MACC report by Jingga 13 Malaysia. But what is the result of the investigation, and until now, the MACC continues to keep silent and “lock up” their tongues,” said Jingga 13.
Yesterday, the PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli, made a revelation regarding Awan Megah, stating that the Wanita Umno Leader, Datuk Raja Ropiah Raja Abdullah, was initially given RM13 million “free money”.
This was following an “invalid and nullified” contract to build the National Defence Education Centre (Puspahanas) and the land agreement was signed by the government.
