She said that tourists do not have to worry about their safety or the safety of their vehicles because this place also provides security guards.

“If we look at other countries such as Japan, they make their hot springs a commercial area, however the Sungai Kerling Hot Spring will still be open to public and it is free.

“I hope that we can take care of the hot springs area together and I urge vendors to make this site a place for them to make a living,” she said.

Lee Kee Hiong said this when met by Selangor Kini after inaugurating the Releasing of Fish Fry into Sungai Kerling today.

She said that she is also happy with the cooperation from the Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) and the Selangor Fisheries Department which gave their commitment in improving the hot springs area.

In the programme, about 30 thousand river carp fry were successfully released.

What is more interesting is that this programme was enlivened with the presence of students from the Kerling National School, who also helped release the fry.

The MDHS President, Tukiman nail, said that the improvement of the infrastructure and facilities in the area will be carried out from time to time.

“So far, the total cost from the upgrading of this area is about RM84 thousand. This includes the construction of gazebos, toilets and resurfacing of roads for the comfort of visitors.

“We are also in the process of widening the access to the area and discussions will be held with the landowners to receive their consent.

“If there are many visitors in this area, we will prepare an area for hawkers,” he said.
