Kiki has been sentenced, Umno Youth who threatened to burn DAP headquarters left alone?

SHAH ALAM, 23 July: The actions of the police of quickly bringing Siti Fairrah Asyikin Kamaruddin or Kiki to justice is right, however it is strange that still no action has been taken against the Federal Territory Umno Youth group who rioted at the DAP headquarters two months ago.

The Member of Parliament for Segambut, Lim Lip Eng, said that the bias attitude is disputed because different actions are taken against those committed by civilians and those committed by members of the ruling party.

“In less than a week, Kiki, who acted violently after her new car was hit and the video of her behaviour spread throughout the country, was immediately investigated, charged and prosecuted.

“Some questions have risen; why did the police act so quickly where there was limited evidence but still has not acted against the mob at the DAP headquarters despite many news reports and documentation,” he said in a statement.

Kiki, the lady owner of a Peugot 208, who rampaged and destroyed the car of an elderly man using a steering lock at the parking area of the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Kuantan, was detained to assist investigations.

She was subsequently fined RM5,000 and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service by the Kuantan Sessions Court after being charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief which may bring a maximum of two years imprisonment, a fine or both.

Lip Eng said that the Federal Territory Umno Youth Chief, Razlan Rafi, who threatened to burn down the DAP headquarters is not only free, but also issued an irresponsible statement to “balik Tongsang” (return to Tongsang) against the wife of the Tanjung Member of Parliament Ng Wei Aik.

“The riot by the Umno youth was recorded by many; in fact it was recorded and witnessed by the police themselves.

“But to this day, not one of the perpetrators were arrested, detained, let alone prosecuted,” said Lip Eng.
