Kit Siang: Deputy Defence Minister Should be Sacked for Statement Ruining Malaysia’s Credibility

SHAH ALAM, 28 Mar: The Member of Parliament for Gelang Patah, Lim Kit Siang, confirmed that he will participate in the briefing for the Malaysia Airlines MH370 aircraft tragedy with other Pakatan Rakyat Members of Parliament on 1 April.

He said that there was some miscommunication in the answer given by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, who said that he will not participate in the briefing organised by the Federal Government.

“I said that I could not attend on Monday night (31 March) because of business, not in Tuesday. Maybe there is a little misunderstanding,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Citing reports from BERNAMA, Shahidan said that the meeting with the Acting Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, proves that the government is open to all parties and is not hiding any information with relation to the MH370 tragedy.

Meanwhile, Kit Siang, in a statement, urged the Deputy Defence Minister, Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri, to be sacked for making a statement that further damaged Malaysia’s credibility.

The DAP Advisor said that Malaysia’s image has already been affected by the loss if flight MH370.

“Over the past two weeks, Malaysia has been criticised greatly by the world. So, it is just unacceptable that we have a bumbling and bungling Deputy Defence Minister who could be so irresponsible and reckless as to talk rubbish in Parliament,” he said.
