Kumpulan Perangsang donates 40 sewing machines worth RM24,000

SHAH ALAM, 23 May: A total of 40 housewives and people with disabilities (PWDs) earning low incomes smiled widely when they received sewing machines from Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad, which was presented recently.

The sewing machines were presented by the Board Member of Perangsang Selangor, R.Sivarasa, who is also the Member of Parliament for Subang.

Also present was the Assemblyman for Bangi, Shafei Ngah and the Member of Parliament for Serdang, Dr Ong Kian Ming.

Sivarasa also said such assistance can help them become small entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing production and increasing their income.

“We hope that this donation can help the recipients of the sewing machines start their own sewing business to increase income to support their families,” he said.

He said, in addition to the donation, Perangsang Selangor will work with the Bangi Welfare and Caring Society, as well as the Bangi Assemblyman’s Service Centre, to provide sewing lessons to the recipients of the sewing machines.

He said that the cost for the one-month sewing lesson will be funded by Kumpulan Perangsang.

The sewing machines are estimated to be worth RM24,000.

Meanwhile, Perangsang Selangor also contributed RM11,000 to the Selangor Yesuvin Mahligai Welfare Organisation, a home for orphans, abused children and neglected senior citizens.

The donation is to pay for a part of their necessary goods like food, clothing and bedding.

The premises is divided into four; the Male Home, the Female Home, Male and Female Citizen’s Homes.

The contribution was presented by the Perangsang Selangor Corporate Social Responsibility Assistant Manager, Mohd Ismail Zam Zam, to the Founder and Chairman of the Taman Jasmin Yesuvin Mahligai Welfare Organisation (YM), Dr M.Rajan.
