SHAH ALAM, 1 Mac: Police attacks on the stronghold of a group of invaders from southern Philippines today is believed to be politically motivated by the Umno-BN Government in attempt to fade-out P. Balasubramaniam’s disclosure on the Altantuya murder mystery.
According to Central PKR Youth Wing Chief, Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, the impression of the people towards this is because the Federal Government should not have allowed this matter to continue is measures were taken from the very beginning.
“The Umno-BN Government cannot blame the people for this perception, significant weakness in the cabinet (was displayed) when Foreign Minister, Datuk Anifah Aman failed to use diplomatic channels to resolve this issue which in turn endangered the safety of the people of Sabah.
“And the people have the right to state that this attack seems like something planned in the middle of the intensity of the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto and the return of private investigator, Bala, who wants to reveal who were actually involved in the murder of the Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shariibu,” said Iskandar.
He added that whether this incident arose by chance or otherwise, it took too long and the effects of this attack is tremendous on the people of Sabah, especially when there were strong connections with the Sulu sultanate.
“Now, the people are anxious, I was told that at this point there are some police blocks happening in the Papar district against people who have blood relations (to the Sulu sultanate) just now. This issue is not good for the country.
“I have high praises for police peacekeeping efforts, but I cannot escape from feeling sympathy and sorrow about the deaths that occurred. And what I want to stress again is that the Federal Government, especially the Minister of Home Affairs, should be responsible for the incident,” he said.
According to Bernama’s reports today, two Malaysian police commandos were killed in a mortar attack at Kampung Tanduo, which had been turned into a fortress by a group of armed intruders from southern Philippines here.
They were patrolling at one of the posts around the village when the mortar bomb exploded.
