MDHS becomes first local authority to be accredited by Bank Negara as Outstanding Billers

SHAH ALAM, 24 Apr: The Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) made history when they became the first government agency and local authority to receive recognition from Bank Negara as Outstanding Billers, together with Maxis and Telekom Malaysia.

The MDHS Corporate Communications Officer, Junainah Abdullah, said that the award ceremony was carried out by the Deputy Governor of Bank Negara, Datuk Muhamad Ibrahim on April 9.

He said that MDHS’ efforts began in 2002 after customer complaints of payment difficulties.

“MDHS no longer looked into plans to increase collection counters by involving a greater cost in teams of construction and asset preparation costs and also the high cost of maintenance,” he said in a press statement.

He said that at the beginning, MDHS only managed to provide online payment services for only three banks, Maybank, Public Bank and Bank Bumiputera.

However, effort after effort was carried out and in 2013, the number of banks that cooperated increased to 15 banks.

Until the end of 2014, MDHS managed to complete it with 42 partners in their network of online services, including collaboration with JomPAY.

“MDHS is also working with Pos Malaysia Berhad, the Land Office and local authorities across Selangor.

“Through this, MDHS has over 45 payment channel agents which allow customers to choose according to their convenience,” he said.
