A reporter for Sinar Harian, Hanatul Firdaus Yaacob, 28, said that Abdul Khalid is a leader who is much admired and his departure will clearly have a great impact.

“Once I found out that today is his last day, I felt a loss as though half my soul had left.

“Of course I will miss a leader who is great, honest and has a clean heart like Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“No more casual jokes by him during press conferences. May Allah continue to bless him,” he told Selangor Kini.

It was reported that today is the last day Abdul Khalid will be called the Chief Minister of Selangor after he first took up the position in March 2008.

The Palace is expected to announce the new Chief Minister today after receiving the list of candidates to be Abdul Khalid’s successor from PAS, PKR and DAP.

Meanwhile, another media practitioner from Kini TV, Zikri Kamarulzaman, 25, said that Abdul Khalid is a leader who is easily approachable without any trivial protocol.

“He was easy to approach. Whatever question was directed at him he would answer it no matter what.

“Only after being dismissed from PKR, he avoided answering questions which he might have thought could trigger unhealthy speculation.

“However, it is not a problem for media practitioners because Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was still able to smile, he was always calm and treated the media well,” he said.
